If you're reading this blog there's a very strong chance that you know us already--for those of you who don't, we're pretty awesome. ;)
Brian is a Navy Pediatrician, an avid reader, and lover of nerdery.
Maureen is a middle school English & Spanish teacher, and an aspiring homemade meal maker.
We also have two cats, Tigre and Patches, who love beating each other up, waking us up at 5am to be fed, chasing shadows & other intruders, and finding other ways to further endear themselves to us.

Why is the blog called "Taylors Aweigh"?
Good question! The word "weigh" in much older times meant "to heave, hoist, or raise." So when an anchor was "aweigh" it had cleared the bottom of the ocean and the ship was underway, or ready to sail.
As a Taylor family, our anchors are aweigh as we're ready to sail off to wherever the Navy tells us we are going next.
(Also it's a fun little play-on-words with the U.S. Naval Academy's fight song, and you know how much we like words ;) )
